A few words about us
Alaskan Adventures is a small operation on the banks of the Holitna River. It is a tributary of the Kuskokwim River, which is the second largest drainage in Alaska next to the Yukon River. Our lodge on the Holitna has great runs of all five salmon species, char, grayling, the rare sheefish and unbelievable pike action. When I say unbelievable pike action, I mean consistently catching fish on topwater flies or plugs. Fly fishing or conventional gear, we have everything needed to make your trip a complete success. If fly-fishing is something you have always wanted to learn, private instruction is available and we will have you hooking fish on the fly in no time.
Our guides, cooks, and hospitality staff are well seasoned at the lodge to ensure your stay is comfortable for a memorable adventure. Our goal is to have fun and show you a great time in the process. Our cooks have a passion for cooking and it shows; not only will you see it, but you will smell and taste it too. Our guides have a passion for guiding and do everything they can to get our guests on the fish of a lifetime and when they are not guiding they can typically be found exploring new water.
For your comfort, we have six cozy guest cabins. From family groups to couples, we can accommodate groups of all sizes. All cabins are Alaska Rustic, meaning: everything needed to build each cabin has been milled at our onsite sawmill. Being in the middle of nowhere Alaska, it is unbelievably peaceful. However, since we are far from any type of amenities or services we must be resourceful in the construction and upkeep of the property. Alaskan Adventures has made this happen with timeless Alaskan style!
As for the food, be prepared to put that diet on hold! Our cooks have been at the lodge for years, catering their favorite local favorite recipes. Our goal is not only to bring a slice of Alaska to you from the outdoors but from the kitchen as well. We have many savory recipes with ingredients that are either grown locally at the lodge or caught right from the river.
Alaska is a rough, rugged, and bountiful place, but it’s not easy living at times. Winters are harsh, but summers are spectacular. Our goal is to bring the distinctive beauty of Alaska to you in comfort and style. Experience warm, clean beds, unbelievable food, and plentiful fishing, as we restore your soul through recreation in the backcountry of Alaska. We are confident that you depart; you’ll be looking forward to your next visit with us!
The Holitna River Lodge
THE HOLITNA RIVER LODGE is located 238 miles SW of Anchorage in the core of Alaska bush country and is on a spectacular waterway with hundreds of miles of river to fish and hunt from. These river systems contains more species of Alaska sports fish and salmon than almost any other system in Alaska.

We have a 2,300-foot runway for our Cessna 206 and our Super Cub, 3 duplex cabins, 4 private cabins, 20 boats, a beautiful garden and a big “Alaskan” main lodge. Our cooks, pilots, and guides continue to give you that warm Alaskan hospitality! We are about as remote as you can get. The fishing is outrageous! Many times we go all week on our river system and do not see another boat. Alaskan Sportfishing Heaven! Your best bet is the fish/hunt combo packages!! Fishing in Alaska the way it should be done.
