Alaskan Adventures Internship

We have intern openings from time to time and from year to year in the areas of fishing and hunting guides, mechanics and chefs. The following are some interns and their brief stories. We like personable interns, self starters, who care about our guests and especially about personal safety. Alaskan Adventure Internship Handbook available on Amazon by Rocky McElveen is a must read before applying. Internship Handbook Kindle $2.99

The program is focused on people who want to make the outdoors an ongoing part of their life.

Talon Heying

as an intern hunting guide and aspiring pilot. Talon began working at our remote
Alaska lodge in 2011 and is now an accredited licensed fishing and hunting guide

Since working for Rocky McElveen his life has changed completely for the better.
Talon has recently finished ground school, the written half of obtaining a private
pilot license, and will have his license before long. He is working on becoming
an integral member of our team at Alaskan-Adventures.

Marc Davis

I must say, the guide life is not for the faint hearted. I wonder at times what I was thinking years ago, but a wild heart for adventure was taking over.

It was 23 years ago I met Rocky McElveen and told him my desires to be in the league of the best guides in the world. He smiled and said “Careful what you ask for”. But he was kind and offered me an intern position with Alaskan-Adventures. From that point, I never looked back. I cooked, packed, skinned, cleaned boats and prepped airplanes

Over the years I went out on my own, and because of my training from Alaskan-Adventures was able to take some of Alaska’s biggest game: coastal brown bear, trophy moose, and countless caribou, and more. But the desire for the lodge on the Holitna river and Alaskan-Adventures has found me back where it all started.

I hope to see you this season and seasons to come, at the Holitna Lodge, a place where God reigns and wildlife is abundant.
